"Stilts"
This is a Linocut. The material is usually a linoleum medium either mounted on wood or has a mesh backing. It’s a relatively soft surface to cut into. It exemlifies the contrasts between negative and positive relations. The white portion is what has been cut away. The linoleum block is inked and pressed by hand using a hand roller. Use a rounded tool, a baren made from back of spoon or an etching dauber covered with cheesecloth for pressing. Once the pattern is cut then roll on the ink and place the printing paper over it. Rub and press firm over the paper to make or pull a print. Voila, you have one print made.
